BPRD PKE (Psycho Kinetic Energy)
Psycho-Kinetic Energy, also referred to as PKE or Manna, is ambient energy around the earth and generated by living creatures. It can be manipulated and harnessed by those sensitive to it. It is energy that can be made to calm a storm, create a fireball, or open the door to another world. It is a force that, except for alchemy or technomancy, requires no external casing or internal mechanism to use; only the mind and strength of will. It seems to be an inexhaustible energy that continually renews itself. A force of nature that can be harnessed by a single individual.
Spells and other magic requires the magi to use PKE to create the effects. Magi have a certain amount of energy that they can channel each day. The more experienced a magi becomes, the more energy they can channel. By sleeping, resting, or meditation, the Magi can open themselves up to the mystical energy and renew their PKE limits. (A rate of 5 per hour.)
Psionists generate PKE and their brains use this energy for a variety of effects. As they grow in experience the more energy their bodies generate. Like the magi, psychics can rest, sleep, or meditate and regenerate their energy faster. (A rate of 5 per hour.)
Other Sources of PKE
Magi can draw energy from several alternate sources:
- Drawing PKE from artifacts. Some artifacts act as PKE batteries, most of these items are uncommon and as such, easily recognizable.
- Drawing PKE from other living beings. All living creatures have a certain amount of PKE, and there are certain conditions under which it can be taken.
- Drawing PKE without one's knowledge. The magi can siphon PKE from a person by making a marksmanship roll and then the victim must make a perception vs. magi willpower roll. If the magi is successful, then they may draw half the target's PKE pool.
- Drawing PKE with a person's knowledge and consent. Magi can draw 70% of a person's pool. There is no limit of how many people can donate at one time.
- Drawing PKE from a unwilling subject. Anyone being attacked in this fashion may resist with a willpower vs. willpower roll.
- Drawing PKE from another magi is impossible
- Taking PKE from the living the most terrible method of taking PKE from a living creature is by killing it. At the moment of death the killing magi can take double the person/creature's PKE.
